The Reel
The Okuma Surf 8k Surf Spinning Reel not only remains Okuma’s patent designs such as rotor brake system, rotor with brush guards, quick-set anti-reverse system, but also upgrades all functions and parts. Surf 8K equips worm shaft transmission system and super slow oscillation system make the line wind more straight and tight, reduce the friction when casting. The taper spool for longer casting distance, it’s perfect for long casting use at wide water.

Cyclonic Flow Rotor Technology (CFR)
Cyclonic Flow Rotor (CFR) was designed to create “cyclonic” airflow, which significantly increases air around the rotor, beneath and around the spool, with every turn of the handle. This thoroughly tested design allows for a much faster drying time if the reel becomes wet, minimising corrosion and extending longevity of the reel.

Slow Oscillation System

Worm Shaft Transmission System

The Rod
The Okuma Nano Matrix Plus Spinning Surf Rod features the latest nano materials (resin) making it extra sensitive to feel every little thing that touches your bait under the water.

It’s manufactured using a patented process with an outer layer of longitudinal fibres around the rod blank to significantly increase strength and power in the tip section. This offers lifting power and strength up to four times conventional graphite rods. The Okuma Tournament Concept Rod is durable, powerful and can be fished by all anglers with confidence.

The Line
The Black Magic Velocity Surf Line is extruded from Japanese co-polymers to the specifications of Black Magic Tackle. With high knot strength, fine diameter and ultra low stretch – so it’s extra sensitive to the smallest of bites. Great for long distance casting.

The Breakaway Sinkers
These Breakaway Sinkers are designed to allow its four individual grips to be precisely tensioned on the hard-wearing head. Essentially this gives you a sinker with great grip into the sand and little chance of getting snagged. Each sinker features 4 wires that come out from the bottom, preventing the actual lead sinker from snagging. And if the wire gets snagged, it automatically flips down to release the sinker.
